Needle Felting Workshop: Create a Blue Tit Bird
Discover the calming, hands-on craft of needle felting in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop. Guided by experienced tutor Emer, you’ll learn how to transform soft wool fibres into a beautifully detailed 3D blue tit bird. Our Liverpool space is perfect for small creative groups.

What you’ll learn
- How needle felting works using specialist barbed needles
- How to shape and sculpt wool using core wool and layering techniques
- How to add colour, texture and fine details
- The difference between felting needles and when to use them
Your projects
You’ll complete two guided pieces:
1. Butterfly sampler (warm-up)
Start with a simple flat design using a template to build confidence and learn the basics.
2. 3D Blue Tit Bird (main project)
Create a charming, tactile bird sculpture with:
- Layered wool body
- Wings, beak, eyes and tail
- Hanging loop using gardener’s twine
