After that 12 midday cut off point this will dispatch the following day for arrival the day after.
What is the difference between water based and oil based inks?
As their description suggests, one is made with water based ingredients, the other has more oil content. For that reason, the clean up of equipment can be more tricky with oil based products. Many will argue that printing has better results with oil based inks however, brands have now developed recipes with both great performance and also easy clean up (soap and warm water). Check out each listing to see our recommendation.
Can I customise my order?
Yes! An advantage of being a small business is that we are flexible. For our kits, choose from either standard pre-packed options or upgrade and choose your own colours & extra items from the drop down menu on that product page. We love to make a kit personal to the individual. Get in touch for any special requests.
What is lino printing?
Lino printing otherwise known as linocut is an art activity originating in the early Twentieth Century. A form of 'relief' printing similar to potato printing, we carve a design onto a lino sheet with a sharp tool before applying printing ink onto the surface of that sheet. By pressing onto paper, a simple print of that cut design is produced.
Can children do lino printing?
Lino printing is suitable for all abilities and most ages however, sharp tools are used. Schools will suggest age 11 upwards however every adult should supervise their activity with children and young adults. Clever Hands cannot be responsible for this.
If I buy a kit what else do I need to provide?
Because we teach workshops, we know the things you will need including written instructions & videos. Almost all equipment & materials are included with just a few household items to find at home. For lino printing you should have a flat surface, some scrap paper, a pencil and access to a sink....and of course a kit!
