Workshop feltmaking poppy with water

Feltmaking with water is an ancient textile craft skill using natural wool fibres: a magical process which can be used to create flat art pieces and 3D items too! In this practical class you will produce a wooly felted brooch in a flower shape, add a fastening back to wear as a brooch or hanging twine to decorate your home. 

Class 1:30 - 3pm

Catherine hosts this bite size class. Having learnt the skill of felting in Finald where she studied over 20 years ago, here you will see fibres examples, learnt about their properties and hear briefly about the science behind felting. 

Choose colours from Catherine's extensive range of merino wool fibres and by following her demonstration, you will wet felt your very own flower. This can be red and black as a poppy - ready for Remembrance Day. 

Or - choose brighter colours if you prefer something more creative.
