Eco Print Workshop: Paper and Fabric
Discover the beautiful art of botanical eco printing in this inspiring beginner-friendly workshop with local textile artist and botanical printer Maggie Pearson. Using sustainable methods and seasonally gathered leaves, you will learn how to create delicate natural prints on both paper and fabric, exploring a creative process that is thoughtful, experimental and full of surprise.
During this eco printing workshop, Maggie will introduce you to the principles of botanical contact printing and guide you through the process step by step. You will learn how leaves can be used to leave detailed, lasting impressions, and explore the many creative possibilities of this gentle and rewarding technique.
You will create your own eco prints on paper to take home, perfect for framing or turning into handmade cards, gift tags or small books. You will also print onto fabric, which can later be used to make a cushion or other home accessory, or simply kept as a beautiful textile piece in its own right.
This workshop is ideal for anyone curious about nature-based making, sustainable printmaking, or trying a new creative skill in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Beginners are very welcome. If you would like to bring your own leaves, Maggie will be happy to check whether they are suitable for printing.
