Workshop silversmith jewellery making with MAREIKE

Learn the basics of silversmithing and create your own pair of earrings in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop from age 16 upwards due to tools. 

Meet Mareike, who has been a silversmith with her own business byMaraca for over half a decade! Under her expert tuition, you’ll see plenty of examples and explore how metals behave, melt or bend your chosen silver or brass into shape, and add a hammered texture to make your design unique. You’ll use a blowtorch to solder on the earring posts, and other jewellery parts, then sand and polish your pieces to a beautiful finish. You can even explore texturing your piece by using your surroundings like stones and pavements, a uniquely Liverpool set of jewellery.  

By the end of the session, you’ll take home a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery —handmade by you! This small-group class is a great way to try your hand at silversmithing and jewellery-making in a relaxed, creative setting. All materials & equipment provided.
