Upcycle INSECT workshop
Fabric scraps, wire and thread is all you need to make a scrappy INSECT of your choice - and they're great for hanging up on your wall!
Hosted by a local Textile Artist you will work with cloth, wire and thread to produce a unique Textile Art item to display at home. Mostly using scissors and hot glue gun, you will chat through your insect idea with Scarlett before drawing out a template and embarking on the assembly!
Popular choices are - Beetle, Bees, Ladybird, Dragonfly, Cicada..... Scarlett is on hand to offer advice at design stage to make sure you either finish your creation during the class time - otherwise are fully clear how to continue at home.
Meet Scarlett of Afrayed Upcycling....
Scarlett will bring examples of her amazing upcycle projects, including clothing and 3D pieces. Have chance here to ask questions and hear a little about how Scarlett got started, her approach to fabruic upcycling and being a creative!
All materials and equipment provided, however bring along your own scrap fabrics to add into the mass body or special fabrics with personal memories to stitch over the body. Scarlett will be bringing extra wire and sparkly fabrics so you can make whatever bug shape you want.
