 This mindful class will be hosted by Bev Evans, a Liverpool based Artist and friend of Clever Hands Studio. Saturday 11th March, 10am to 2pm. 

Printing with a gel plate otherwise known as monotype printing is a super fun & easy technique. Paint is applied with a roller to a gelli surface, stencils and texture techniques produce patterns before paper is applied over the paint to make a print. 
Printmaking can often require an expensive print press and oily inks. Here with the gel plate, a soft and rubbery surface, we use regular water based acrylic inks and simple easily found materials. Focus for the class is on a pattern of flowers and leaves.
All materials and equipment will be provided for you to produce a set of 10 greetings cards with envelopes to take away along with other prints on paper you will make during the class. There will also be an option to buy your kit from Bev should you wish to continue printing at home. Additional paper, blank cards and envelopes will also be available to purchase from her on the day.
In this beginners class, Bev shows examples for ideas from her own work. She will give full instruction by demonstrations throughout the workshop supported by 1:1 guidance, make this as easy or difficult as you like! Use any of Bev’s paint colours or mix your own.

Just bring an apron!

Five stars for this shop! I had an idea to make linocut camp t-shirts this summer but wasn’t sure where to start. Catherine answered a ton of my questions and made sure I had everything I needed - including ink for printing on fabric. The kit arrived within a week and everything was beautifully packaged, the materials are great & the instructions were very helpful.
