Textile art beginners - recycled sari upcycle
Discover the creative possibilities of working with recycled sari silk ribbons, originally woven for traditional saris and reborn in beautifully rich jewel colours.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how these silk strips can be manipulated and layered for a wide range of textile projects. Local artist Diane Moore, who works in textiles, paint, and mixed media, will guide you in creating a hand-stitched piece using sari silk, organza, beads, and simple embroidery techniques.
Your finished work can become a talisman pouch, journal or book cover detail, bookmark, decorative panel, or a collaged piece ready for framing.
Basic sewing skills are all you need—just the ability to thread a needle and use a few simple stitches.
All materials are provided, including felt, recycled sari silks, embroidery threads, beads, embellishments, needles, and pins.
If you love hand stitching, texture, and beautiful upcycled fabrics, this workshop offers a truly enjoyable and creative experience. Suitable age 14 upwards (with adult for under 16 please.

Unopened kits can be returned within 14 days of purchase. Unfortunately, we can’t accept returns once a kit has been opened.
