Calling all cloth upcycle enthusiasts!
Workshop 1-4pm on 2 dates. 
Come along to a scrap busting workshop with Scarlett from Afrayed Upcycling for an introduction to the sustainable world of upcycling.

Students will be collaging fabric scraps to create their own unique 'tea towel' piece that measures 50cm x 75cm. Scarlett will be showing you how to arrange your scraps and secure them onto fabric using a range of hand sewing techniques that are both practical and decorative. 

You will see examples of Scarlett's tea towel dresses on the day and she will be there to answer any questions about upcycling. Everyone will be going home with a unique, beautiful textile ART piece to gift or frame up - This class includes a FREE pdf pattern for Scarlett's Joy Mini Tea Towel Dress in case you wanted to turn your new artwork into a garment!

All materials and equipment provided, however bring along your own scrap fabrics and cloth you have and love to add into your piece. Led by demonstrations, Scarlett shows you how to construct using simple stitch techniques.

The more messy, wonky and creative you are the better!......a focus here on being expressive with stitch, not a technical embroidery class. Mostly adults attend however beginner skill level makes this class suitable for age 11 upwards. WE USE HAND STITCH METHOD NOT SEWING MACHINES
