Join us for a relaxing afternoon with Liverpool mixed media Artist Lena and the Sea... Lena's artwork is inspired by land and sea in a semi-abstract expressive style.
She works with various media on paper and canvas to express movement, stillness, time, depth and mood.
Lena's work has both abstract and descriptive aspects, and more can be seen each time you look. With an 'unfinished' quality, her work encourages the viewer to complete the story.

Be inspired by the creative setting in our Art Shop, hear all about Lena's journey as an Artist, she will bring along plenty work for you to admire and ask questions about. The workshop is led by paint technique demonstrations, you'll go away with the following skills:
* Colour Theory: Understanding colour harmony and contrast, especially neon colour usage.
* Tool techniques: Mastering strokes with different tools to create texture, depth, and movement in water.
* Composition: Balancing elements for a visually striking and dynamic seascape.
Workshop Outline:
Base layer: apply neon colours to entire canvas
This will create our bright accents later.
When dry, we apply our sea colours with a brush and use tools to scrape, spread, and push the paint, revealing our colour accents through the bluish green, creating colour pops, depth, movement and texture.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have created a unique and visually stunning contemporary abstract seascape on canvas to take home and hang. Explore the fusion of traditional seascape painting with vibrant, contemporary neon colors. Participants will learn to balance serene ocean scenes with bold, electric hues.
Suitable for all levels of experience including beginners, recommend age 14 upwards, under 16 accompany by an adult, get in touch with any questions.
