Learn how to make your own stylish knotted bag in this relaxed and beginner-friendly macramé workshop. Guided by experienced tutor Emer from Knotty Potty, you will be introduced to the wonderful world of macramé and shown how to use simple knotting techniques to create a handmade bag to take home.

This class is ideal for complete beginners and those with some experience -  if you are looking for a mindful, creative workshop to enjoy by yourself or with a friend. Emer has been teaching macramé for over 10 years and will guide you step by step, making the process approachable, enjoyable and much easier than it looks. For experienced learners, Emer can show you new techniques to develop your ability. 

During the workshop, you will learn a range of core macramé knotting techniques while making your own bag. You can choose between a smaller phone bag or a larger handbag style, with options to create either a cross-body strap or loop handles. Personalise your design by choosing a single colour or combining colours to suit your style.

Macramé is a calming and absorbing craft that quickly becomes addictive in the best way. As well as enjoying the experience on the day, you will leave with new creative skills and a take-home instruction leaflet so you can continue knotting at home with confidence.

All materials are included, along with refreshments and snacks. You are also welcome to take a break, browse our gift shop, and enjoy the creative atmosphere of Clever Hands while you work. Suitable for beginners. No experience necessary. Mainly for adults, but please get in touch if you would like to ask about under 16s.
