Join local knitter Bernadette for a relaxed workshop where you’ll master the basics of knitting from scratch. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone wanting to refresh old skills, this class will help you build confidence with yarn and needles while creating your very first knitted projects.

What you’ll learn in this knitting workshop:

  • How to cast on and cast off with ease
  • Tips for reading simple knitting patterns
  • The different types of knitting needles & yarns
  • Beginner projects you can complete quickly with guidance

Each session is hands-on and beginner-friendly, with plenty of samples to see and touch. You’ll also receive a take-home knitting guide so you can keep practicing at home – a perfect hobby for cosy autumn and winter evenings.

Flexible weekly format

Missed a class? No problem – arrive 15 minutes early for a quick recap. Each session stands alone, but for the full knitting experience, join all 3 weeks and practice between sessions for the best results.

  • Week 1: Knit a simple length either 1 colour or more - a neck tie or small scarf
  • Week 2: Turn your knitting into a chunky mug warmer
  • Week 3: Create a cosy headband/ear warmer

For those keen to go further, time allowing Bernadette may also introduce purl stitch, increasing/decreasing and more advanced projects such as scarves, gloves, socks, jumpers, teapot covers. Make this class as easy or difficult as you like.
