Workshop introduction to textile weaving

Loom With a View is Catharine Clark, a friend of Clever Hands Studio and keen weaver with over 15 years experience. During the day of Saturday 6th July, she will be bringing along lots of yarn, 2 SAORI weaving looms and her own handmade hand card weaving kits. Click here to find out more about this freestyle weaving technique which originated in Japan, a truly mindful and beautiful technique. 

Slots are 11am, 1pm and 3pm lasting around 60-90 minutes depending on yourself. Suitable for all abilites, age 5/6 upwards, under 12's recommend an adult to help (no extra ticket required if helping).

Catharine will introduce the craft, show her own work and teach some basic technique with the hand card weaving kits. Learn about fibres first hand, and take turns to use the Saori looms. Continue your weaving at home with your card based kit and feel armed with the knowledge to continue your journey into weaving or textile making, indeed textile art in general.
