Class - 11am - 12:20pm
During the workshop you will learn the traditional process of creating beautiful blue and white 'photographic' prints using daylight, objects and botanical specimens.
Come along and meet Rachel Brewster-Wright from Little Vintage Photography. She will introduce the story of a blueprint as it was first developed by Anna Atkins in mid 1800's. Rachel will show examples of her work, plenty time to ask questions and see original artwork up front.
Then she will guide you through the steps to exposing your composed print to UV light. If we don't have good daylight, Rachel brings UV lamps to ensure we can go ahead. your print will be something like a bookmark or greeting card, postcard.
Bring your own botanical treasures or small objects, or use the ones provided to create unique and intricate designs. You'll be amazed at the stunning results you can achieve with this traditional photographic technique.
The magical cyanotype process will enable participants to capture and create their own memories as well as learning about a pioneering photographic process. So, whether you're a photographer, an art & craft enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply want to try a new and exciting experience, this event is not to be missed.
