Handmade lokta paper size A5
Nepalese Lokta paper is made by hand from the fibrous inner bark of Daphine bush or Lokta in the local language, which grows at high altitudes in the Himalayas. Lokta has the ability to regenerate within 5 to 7 years after harvesting. The bark is collected with environmental awareness and large scale “Lokta” resources remain untapped.
Lokta Paper is famous for its special texture, durability and resistance to tearing, humidity and insets. The oldest available manuscripts of Buddhist text & legal information were recorded on this paper. Today still the Nepalese government print official documents on lokta.
Strong & lightweight, this specialist paper can then be dyed, stencilled, printed and transformed into a great variety of attractive paper products by craftsmen such as greeting cards, stationery sets, notebooks, gift-wrapping paper, photo albums, lamps. Lokta paper is acid-free and is widely regarded as one of the world's finest handmade papers.
I offer a 4 or 10 sheet pack. My botanical lino print kit has this paper included as standard.
