Block printing onto textiles workshop
Turn simple shapes into beautiful printed fabrics in this beginner-friendly workshop at Clever Hands, Liverpool. Explore different ways to make your mark, experiment with pattern and colour, and print your own white fabric tote bag to take home.
We’ll begin by looking at examples of different block-printing styles, before exploring fabrics, inks and the tools used to create your designs. You’ll discover how carved wooden blocks, vegetable stamps and your own hand-carved lino-style stamps can each produce distinctive results.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Choose suitable fabrics and printing inks.
- Create and use different types of printing blocks.
- Plan a repeating pattern and position your design.
- Print onto your tote bag.
- Finish and set your print, with guidance on caring for your fabric.
A white fabric tote bag is included. You’re also welcome to bring your own cloth to experiment with. You’ll leave with your printed creation, new skills and ideas for further projects, from tea towels and cushion covers to clothing and gifts.
No previous printing experience is needed. Come ready to experiment and enjoy making something uniquely yours!

Unopened kits can be returned within 14 days of purchase. Unfortunately, we can’t accept returns once a kit has been opened.
